Mount Olive College goalkeeper Aleksandar Drobac recorded nine saves in his first collegiate appearance, but a goal in the 71st minute was the difference as the Trojans fell to Francis Marion 1-0 in non-conference men's soccer Thursday at Florence, S.C. The match was Mount Olive's 2013 season opener.

The loss ended Mount Olive's five-match unbeaten streak in regular season contests, dating back to the 2012 season. The goal snapped Mount Olive's 430-minute regular season shutout streak.

Mount Olive (0-1-0) was outshot 8-0 in the first half, but the Trojans kept the match scoreless at halftime as Drobac recorded three saves on eight shots in the opening 45 minutes. Mount Olive was held without a shot in the first half.

Bright Eto had the Trojans' first shot of the match three minutes into the second half, but Francis Marion goalkeeper Nick Stover made the save on Eto's 18-yard attempt. Stover also stopped a header by Josh Woodburn from inside the box in the 67th minute.

Francis Marion (1-0-0) broke the deadlock on a corner kick after Drobac deflected a shot attempt from the top of the box. Simon Nett put home a header from eight yards out at 70:57 for the match's lone goal.

Mount Olive had only one more shot for the remainder of the match as the Trojans were outshot 21-3. Stover finished with three saves for the Patriots.

Mount Olive has its home opener Sunday as the Trojans play host to former Conference Carolinas member Anderson in non-conference action. Match time is 1 p.m. at Amon Field.
