Box Score Mount Olive trailed by only a goal at halftime before Young Harris (Ga.) erupted for five second-half goals to defeat the Trojans 6-0 in non-conference men's soccer Saturday at Charlotte, N.C. The neutral-site match marked the second trip to Charlotte in four days for the Trojans, which played Queens Wednesday.
Mount Olive (0-4-0) still trailed by only 2-0 until the 62nd minute when Young Harris (3-1-0) scored three goals in a span of seven minutes. Khurram Shazad recorded a hat trick for the Mountain Lions.
Aleksandar Drobac started in goal for Mount Olive and recorded four saves in 63 minutes. Adam Lawrence played the final 27 minutes in goal and finished with five saves. Each keeper allowed three goals. Young Harris goalkeeper Pedro Ozi tallied four saves. Mount Olive was outshot 27-8.
Mount Olive is idle until Saturday when the Trojans open Conference Carolinas play at home against North Greenville. Match time is 4 p.m. at Amon Field.
