Box Score Just three days after taking Belmont Abbey to four sets, Mount Olive fell to the Crusaders 25-13, 25-15, 25-15 in Conference Carolinas women's volleyball Tuesday at Belmont, N.C. Lauren Lee and Sarah Watkins led the Trojans with six kills apiece.
The two teams faced each other Saturday at Kornegay Arena and Mount Olive (6-11 overall, 3-4 Conference Carolinas) took one set from Belmont Abbey and battled the Crusaders to within 26-24 and 25-23 in two of the other sets. Tuesday was a different story as the Trojans fell behind early in each set and never recovered.
Elyse Keating recorded 21 assists for the Trojans, while Lee and Charnel Austin finished with eight digs apiece.
Hannah Schellenberg led all players with 17 kills for Belmont Abbey (12-3, 6-1).
Mount Olive heads to Upstate South Carolina this weekend for a pair of Conference Carolinas matches. The Trojans play at North Greenville Friday at 7 p.m. and at Erskine Saturday at 2 p.m. Mount Olive posted wins over both teams three weeks ago at Kornegay Arena.
