Box Score Mount Olive finished with an 11-7 shot advantage, but the Trojans fell to Coker 2-0 in non-conference women's soccer Wednesday at Hartsville, S.C. The contest was only the second in the last seven matches in which the Trojans allowed more than one goal.
Trailing by a goal and limited to five shots through the first 68 minutes, Mount Olive (2-9-2) surpassed its shot total over the next 16 minutes. A pair of corner kicks by Maddy Robak set up four of the shot attempts, but Coker goalkeeper Lizz Morris recorded saves on shots by Katie Batson, Damilia Brooks and Christine Rocchio.
Coker (3-10-0) got all of its scoring from Salina Maynard, the first goal at the 11:59 mark and an insurance goal at 87:26.
Mount Olive resumes Conference Carolinas play Saturday as the Trojans travel to Due West, S.C., to take on Erskine. Match time is 2 p.m.
