Dezirae Mackey and Carly White recorded 12 kills and six blocks apiece and freshman Sarah Watkins added a career-high 11 kills as Mount Olive defeated North Greenville 25-22, 24-26, 26-24, 25-15 in Conference Carolinas women's volleyball Friday at Tigerville, S.C. The trio combined for a .414 hitting percentage with only five errors in 70 attempts.
The win snapped Mount Olive's (7-11 overall, 4-4 Conference Carolinas) four-match losing skid in conference play.
Lauren Lee led four players in double figures with 15 digs. Nicole Sparks added 13 digs, Charnel Austin had 11 digs and Nicole Karas finished with 10 digs. Karas also recorded 40 assists.
Mackey served three of the Trojans' 10 aces, while Lee and Sparks added two apiece. Mount Olive is 5-1 this season when reaching double figures in aces. The Trojans also tallied 14.0 team blocks for their third team double-double this season.
North Greenville (2-17, 1-7) was led by Yomi Adeyeye with a match-high 14 kills.
Mount Olive wraps up its twp-match swing through Upstate South Carolina Saturday at Erskine. Match time is 2 p.m. at Due West, S.C.
