Mount Olive rallied from a late four-point deficit in third set and fought off two match points before falling to Barton 26-24, 25-16, 26-24 in Conference Carolinas women's volleyball Wednesday at Wilson, N.C. Sarah Robertson had nine of her team-high 10 kills in the final set.

Mount Olive (5-6 overall, 1-2 Conference Carolinas) trailed 22-18 in the third set when Robertson and Carly White recorded two kills apiece during a 4-0 run to tie the set. Barton (3-7, 2-1) scored the next two points and had a chance to serve for the match, but Robertson's kill saved one match point. White and Talita Rocha combined on a block to tie the set 24-24, but two straight Trojan attack errors sealed the win for Barton.

In the first set, Nicole Karas served four aces during an 8-0 run as Mount Olive turned a three-point deficit into a 20-15 lead. The Trojans had a chance to serve for the set after Lauren Lee's kill made the score 24-20. Meredith Watkins' kill saved one set point and Watkins would go on to serve out the set as Barton finished with a 6-0 run. Melissa Cochran capitalized on overpasses to record kills on the final three points of the set.

Barton continued its momentum from the first set, scoring four of the first five points of the second set and leading from start to finish. Robertson's kill pulled Mount Olive within 5-3, but the Trojans got no closer as the Bulldogs built the lead to as many as 10 points.

White finished with seven kills and a match-high four blocks for Mount Olive. Karas led all players with four aces and recorded her third double-double with 27 assists and 10 digs. Lee finished with 12 digs, while Nicole Sparks added 11 digs.

Cochran had a match-high 14 kills and no errors in 22 attempts for Barton. Jillian Sherman and Kati Wood each added 12 kills, while Amanda Grandy recorded 38 assists. Wood and Corinna Morton shared match-high honors with 13 digs apiece.

Mount Olive returns to action this weekend as the Trojans host a pair of Conference Carolinas matches at Kornegay Arena. Mount Olive takes on Coker Friday at 7 p.m., then faces Belmont Abbey Saturday at 2 p.m.
