Mount Olive suffered its first conference loss of the season as the Trojans fell to Erskine 25-23, 25-20, 25-18 in Conference Carolinas women's volleyball Saturday at Due West, S.C. Carly White led all players with 12 kills.

After taking the first set to the wire, Mount Olive (5-5 overall, 1-1 Conference Carolinas) cut a 20-14 deficit in half in the second set. Erskine (2-5, 2-0) scored the next four points and withstood another late rally. The Flying Fleet pulled away in the third set.

The Trojans opened conference play the night before with a five-set win at Converse.

Mount Olive returns to action as the Trojans head up I-795 to Wilson, N.C., to take on Barton in a Conference Carolinas match-up. Mount Olive won two of three against Barton last year, including both conference contests. Match time is 7 p.m.
