In the 165-weight class, Bancroft finished runner-up while competing at the 42nd Annual Pembroke Classic on Sunday. He produced an opening-round win via fall before recording a quarterfinal victory by a 10-3 decision against Michael Lowry of UNC Pembroke. Bancroft followed up with an 11-1 major decision over David Varner of UNCP before falling by an 8-1 decision to Matt Jenkins of Reinhardt in the championship match.
