Tanner Tolston

Tanner Tolston was named Head Strength and Conditioning Coach in 2020.

Tolston was previously the Assistant Director of Wellness in the Pope Wellness center at UMO from 2018-20. During this time he managed all aspects of the daily wellness center operations, supervise and train student workers, oversee facility management, coordinate all campus recreation programs, plan and organize intramural sports programs, provide personal training for college students, community members and student athletes.. 

Prior to coming back to Mount Olive, he was a student assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Barton College from 2016-2017. During this year he worked under the strength and conditioning coaches with the Women’s Soccer Team, Men’s Basketball Team, Men’s and Women’s Tennis Teams, and Women’s Lacrosse Team to administer and oversee the strength and conditioning program for student athletes.

Before his stint at Barton, he was a graduate assistant for East Carolina University as a Teacher Assistant and Athletics' Class Checker. During this time he taught Lifetime Physical Activity and Fitness Laboratory.

In 2015 completed his internship for Mount Olive as a CrossFit instructor at CrossFit of Goldsboro and CrossFit of Mount Olive.

Tolston earned his Bachelors of Science in Recreation and Leisure Studies with a concentration in Exercise Science from the University of Mount Olive in 2015. He then went onto earn his Masters of Science in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise and Sport Psychology From East Carolina University.
