Katherine Stachowski

Katherine Stachowski joins Mount Olive as the newly hired women’s lacrosse head coach. Stachowski enters her first head coaching role after previously serving as an assistant at Limestone University for four years and as a graduate assistant at North Central College for two years prior.

At Limestone University, Stachowski served as the defensive coordinator for the Saints.

During her tenure, Stachowski coached Limestone teams that captured two South Atlantic Conference Championships, produced numerous defensive All-SAC selections, multiple Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Region honorees, several United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) All-American selections, and made two NCAA Tournament appearances.

In 2025, Limestone finished 15-6 overall and 9-2 in conference play to place second in the SAC standings. Six Limestone student-athletes earned SAC postseason honors, with two each named to the First Team, Second Team, and Third Team All-SAC.

Limestone upset No. 1 seed Wingate, 16-7, in the SAC Championship title game, clinching the program’s first-ever automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Saints secured a 14-7 win over Wingate in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament before falling 17-11 to top-seeded West Chester in the Atlantic Region semifinals.

The 2025 team finished fourth in the nation in scoring defense (7.86 goals allowed per game) and sixth in scoring margin (7.19), while ranking eighth in the Atlantic Region.

Stachowski was a two-time captain at Transylvania University, where she started 61 games over four years, totaling 85 ground balls, 45 caused turnovers, and 13 draw controls.

She also served as a two-time captain with the Pioneers, Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) President for two years, Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference SAAC President (2017–18), and as an intern with the Transylvania Athletics Department.
