Barr joined the NC State Athletic Training Department as an intern during the 2021-22 academic year and worked directly with football, women's basketball, and softball. She treated injuries with therapeutic modalities while assisting in the care of neurological injuries. Barr aided with planning for the opening rounds of March Madness while observing physicals and draft approval for the WNBA. Barr also worked with the Wolfpack women's basketball individual camps and the Oak City Gliders, a collegiate baseball summer league team.

In the spring of 2021, Barr worked as an athletic training intern at Millbrook High School. During her time with Pioneers, she provided evaluations, treatment, rehabilitation, and taping for lower extremity injuries. She also completed game day field preparation and managed concussion RTP including SCAT=5 assessments.

At Shenandoah, she served in the athletic department as an athletic training intern for field hockey, softball, women's basketball, women's soccer, tennis, track & field, and women's lacrosse in 2020-21. Barr managed multiple ACL pre/post rehabilitation while assisting in anterior compartment syndrome diagnosis. Additionally, she worked an internship at Select PT Clinic and a 40-hour practicum at James Wood High School in Winchester, Virginia.

Barr was a United States Strongman National Qualifier in 2023-24. Additionally, she was a four-year softball player at Shenandoah and earned Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) All-Academic honors.

She earned her bachelor's degree in exercise science with a minor in coaching in 2020 before completing her master's degree in athletic training in 2022 from Shenandoah University.
