Erasmo Ordonez

Erasmo Ordonez

Erasmo Ordonez was named as an Assistant Coach in August of 2019.

Ordonez graduated from UMO in May of 2014 with a Physics and Engineering degrees. While at Mount Olive, Ordonez earned the UMO Presidential Award, was a two-time National Qualifier, a TFFRS All-Region honoree, a Conference Carolinas All-Conference honoree, and the UMO Student-Athlete of the Month.

Prior to returning to UMO, Ordonez was the head coach for Cross Country and Track at Clinton High School. He also ran in the 2018 Boston Marathon, which he finished in 2 hours and 49 minutes coming in 407th of 30,000 runners.

"It a huge privilege joining such a great school and my alma mater," said Ordonez. "I attended Mount Olive when there was no track and we had to travel to local high schools for practice, so to be back with a track and some of the best athletes in the country means a lot to me. Some big shoes to fill but we have the right people to continue the winning tradition UMO is known for. Hopefully, that can help!"

"We are very excited to have Mo join our coaching staff," said Graves. "He was a noteworthy athlete in our program, and I believe that he will bring all of his knowledge for success back to the team as a coach."
