MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The University of Mount Olive women's basketball team defeated the Flying Fleet of Erskine College on Saturday evening at Kornegay Arena in Conference Carolinas women's basketball action in Mount Olive, N.C.

How It Happened


  • Felecity Havens got the Trojans on the scoreboard first with a three-pointer 70 seconds into the contest and scored the next four UMO points to give Mount Olive a 7-4 lead as the clock approached the seven-minute mark.
  • UMO scored seven points off of three free throws and a pair of layups to take a 14-4 lead with 3:47 remaining in the opening quarter.
  • The Trojans put up six more points to hold a 12-point, 20-8, lead as the teams headed into the second frame.


  • Mount Olive extended their lead to as many as 17 points while Erskine was held to just 13 points in the second quarter as the teams heading into halftime 36-21 UMO's lead.


  • UMO's lead opened up to 20 points following a jump shot made by Jada Bacchus that put the score at 49-29 with 5:12 remaining in the third.
  • Erskine led the remaining five minutes with a 12-10 run as the score sat at 59-41 heading into the final ten minutes.


  • Mount Olive continued to control the game as they held their 20-point lead throughout the fourth quarter as the Trojans outscored the Flying Fleet 20-18 to win the game by 20-points, 79-59.


  • Felecity Havens tallied 30 points in the game while Jada Bacchus added 22 of her own to combine for 52 of the Trojans 79.
  • Makayla Nichols joined the double-figures club with 11 points in the game.
  • Bacchus brought down a team-high 12 rebounds for her ninth double-double of the season.


Mount Olive hits the road for a tough Conference Carolinas contest against the Lions of Emmanuel College following a week of rest. The Trojans and Lions hit the court on Saturday, February 9, with tip-off set for 2 p.m. in Franklin Springs, Ga.
