Clarence Rose

PGA Tour Professional and College Hall of Famer Clarence Rosereturned to one of his two alma maters in October 2009 when he wasnamed assistant coach for the University of Mount Olivemen’s and women’s golf teams.

Rose earned his associates degree at Mount Olive when the schoolwas still a two-year college, then transferred to Clemson where heearned his undergraduate degree. Rose won All-America honors atboth Mount Olive and Clemson. Rose helped lead Mount Olive to theJunior College National Finals in 1977.

In 2006, Rose was part of the inaugural class inducted into theUniversity of Mount Olive Athletics Hall of Fame. Rose is also inthe Clemson University Athletics Hall of Fame and was selected tothe Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Golf 50th AnniversaryTeam.

Rose competed on the PGA Tour for 16 years and amassed more than$2.5 million in winnings. He won championships at the 1996 SprintInternational and the 1997 J.C. Penney Classic. He has alsocompeted on the Nationwide Tour and the Champions Tour.

In addition to coaching at Mount Olive, Rose is the head golfpro at Walnut Creek Country Club in Goldsboro, N.C.

Rose and his wife Jan have two children, Clark and Allison.Clark graduated from Mount Olive in 2011 and was a member of theTrojan men’s golf team.
