University Of Mount Olive - Name Usage
For game stories and news items, please use University of Mount Olive on first reference. After first reference, Mount Olive and UMO are acceptable.
University of Mount Olive's nickname is "Trojans" for all men's and women's sports teams. Please do not use "Lady Trojans" for Mount Olive's women's sports teams.
Interviews
All interviews with coaches, student-athletes and staff members must be coordinated through the Office of Athletics Communications.
Game Day Coverage
Contact the Director of Athletics Communications to request credentials, which will be made available at the gate on game day. Pre-game interviews with student-athletes and coaches are not permitted. Post-game interviews must be coordinated with the Athletics Communications contact at the contest.
Photographers
Credentials are available for media photographers. Photos must be shot from standard photo locations.
Press Box/Press Row
Press boxes, press row, and all athletics communications/media areas are working areas, not spectator areas. Please adhere to the policies outlined below:
- Only game staff, media and visiting athletics communications staff are permitted in sports information/media areas during home contests. Requests for press box/press row access must go through the UMO sports information office.
- Cheering or derogatory comments towards officials, coaches, players or spectators are not permitted in a athletics communications/media area.
- Profanity is not permitted in a athletics communications/media area.
- Cell phone usage is not permitted in athletics communications/media areas, with the exception of emergencies or calls directly related to the event taking place.
- Food and drinks are permitted, but please dispose of properly.
- Alcohol and tobacco products are prohibited on the University of Mount Olive campus.
Violations of the above-stated policies can result in the dismissal from the sports information/media area or even from the event itself.
Internet Access
Hardwired or wireless internet access is available for most home contests.
Radio
Requests for radio broadcasts must be made at least one week (seven days) prior to the contest.
