Mount Olive, NC – Wednesday evening saw two trojans be selected for first team all-conference honors. The duo of second baseman
Emma King and Outfielder Sam Taylor were the outstanding selections this year.
Sam Taylor has been the leader in RBIs for the Trojans this year, batting in 40 runs and scoring 41 herself. She has been a power hitter for the Trojans 15 doubles and 12 home runs on the season. Those dingers put her in the top 50 in the entire nation! Her .401 batting average and .428 OBP combine to make here one of the most proficient hitters in all of Conference Carolinas.
Emma King has launched herself into the history books in her first season as a Trojan, with her current batting average being the best ever in school history with an astounding .517 (4
th in the nation) and third with 78 hits (3
rd in the nation). Her OPS is an astounding 1.209, which puts her in the forefront of the nation as one of the best hitters. She follows that up with 6 doubles and 36 RBIs to cap off one of the best single season performances UMO softball has ever seen.
The Trojans look to continue their season in the conference tournament with their single elimination matchup against Barton on Thursday, with the game time scheduled for 11:00 AM.
