Trojans Dominate Chowan, Extend Win Streak to 10 with Perfect Home Record Intact

MOUNT OLIVE – The University of Mount Olive men's tennis team continued its dominant stretch on Friday afternoon, rolling to a 7-0 sweep over Chowan Hawks men's tennis at the John Neal Walker Tennis Center. The victory marks the Trojans' 10th consecutive win while maintaining an unblemished home record this season.

Mount Olive (12-4) set the tone early by sweeping all three doubles courts. The duo of Kristoffer Dalbak and Bram Poel secured a 6-4 win at No. 1 doubles, while Niklas Gruenefeldt and Rasmus Grindheim cruised to a 6-1 victory at the No. 2 position. Philip Carstensen and Luke Oosthuizen capped the doubles point with a 6-4 win at No. 3.

Carrying that momentum into singles play, the Trojans delivered across the lineup. Dalbak battled back to claim a three-set victory at the top spot, closing it out in a tiebreak to secure the match. Poel and Grindheim each earned straight-set wins at No. 2 and No. 4 singles, respectively, while Gruenefeldt controlled his matchup at No. 3 with an 8-3 decision.

Carstensen added another point with a hard-fought 9-7 win at No. 5, and Hiroma Nishikata completed the sweep with a commanding 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 6.

The Trojans' depth and consistency were on full display, as they did not drop a single match in the contest. Mount Olive has now won 10 straight matches and continues to build momentum heading into the final stretch of the regular season.

With the win, the Trojans remain perfect at home and will look to carry their strong form into their Senior Day match against Ferrum tomorrow at 2 p.m.
