UMO Athletics Announces 2025 Hall of Fame Class

MOUNT OLIVEFour former Mount Olive standouts will headline the 18th annual Hall of Fame Class at the University of Mount Olive, with the ceremony set for Homecoming Weekend, the athletic department announced on Monday.

The 2025 inductees are Gina Dos Santos (Class of 2010, women's soccer), Craig Hayes (Class of 2012, men's basketball), Jacob Rogers (Class of 2013, baseball), and Carly White (Class of 2014, women's volleyball and softball).

Live coverage of the 2025 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony can be viewed on Saturday, Nov. 22, beginning at 3 p.m.

Dos Santos is one of the most prolific goal scorers in UMO women's soccer history, a three-time All-Conference selection, and a member of the 2004 Carolinas-Virginia Athletic Conference (CVAC) Tournament Championship team. She is the all-time program leader with 124 career points and 48 career goals while ranking third in team history with 28 assists.

As a freshman, Dos Santos set the single-season record with 48 points and tied the school mark with 20 goals in 2004. The following year, she delivered a 44-point campaign behind 19 goals and six assists in 23 matches. Dos Santos is one of only three players in program history to net four goals in a single match.

"This truly is a dream come true. I've dreamt of this moment as a child looking through the glass cases in gymnasiums, admiring their legendary athletes in hopes to one day be among them," said Dos Santos. "I am honored and beyond grateful for this recognition."

Hayes, a standout for Mount Olive men's basketball, helped lead the Trojans to three regular season championships (2008, 2009, 2010), two tournament titles (2008, 2010), and three NCAA Division II Tournament appearances.

During his career, Mount Olive reached a program-best national ranking of No. 11 (2007-08) and recorded three 20-win seasons. Hayes earned numerous individual honors, including the 2012 Conference Carolinas Player of the Year, three All-Conference selections, and All-Region honors from both Daktronics and the NABC. He was also named to the NCCSIA All-State Team, earning the distinction as the only unanimous selection that year.

In his senior season, Hayes averaged 19.5 points and seven rebounds per game while ranking among the national leaders in field goal percentage (60.5%, 13th nationally) and scoring (35th nationally). He finished his career with 1,522 points and 662 rebounds, leaving his mark among the program's all-time greats. A two-time Pickle Classic Champion and the 2012 Mount Olive College Offensive Player of the Year, Hayes embodied excellence and sportsmanship, capped by receiving the prestigious Messick Award for Sportsmanship.

"I am extremely honored to be recognized and inducted into the 2025 UMO Hall of Fame," said Hayes. "The decision to commit to the University of Mount Olive has significantly impacted my life on and off the court. The memories made on the UMO campus were some of the best moments of my life."

Rogers, a record-setting performer for Mount Olive baseball, etched his name throughout the Trojans' record book with a career batting average of .403—one of the best in program history. He scored 86 runs in a single season, recorded six multi-home run games (including three consecutive multi-HR performances), and tied for eighth in single-season home runs with 17. His explosive offense and consistency made him one of the most feared hitters in Conference Carolinas during his career.

Nationally recognized for his accomplishments, Rogers earned multiple All-America honors, including 2011 ABCA and Daktronics Third Team and 2012 NCBWA and Daktronics Second Team selections. He was also named NCBWA Southeast Player of the Year and was a semifinalist for the prestigious Tino Martinez Award. Following his outstanding collegiate career, Rogers was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 40th round and went on to play six seasons of professional baseball, including four years in the Cubs' minor league system.

"It's hard to put into words how it feels — overwhelming, humbling, and deeply meaningful," said Rogers "To be recognized like this makes me reflect on every sacrifice, every late night, and everyone who supported me along the way."

White,
a dual-sport standout, made a lasting impact on both the volleyball and softball programs at Mount Olive. On the court, she was a three-time All-Conference selection (2011, 2013, 2014) and earned First Team honors in 2014. She ranks sixth all-time in career kills (1,312) while posting an impressive .329 attack percentage, cementing her place among the program's offensive leaders. Her excellence was further recognized with a selection to the 2013 AVCA All-Southeast Region Team.

Equally impressive on the diamond, White helped lead Mount Olive softball to championship success, earning 2014 Conference Tournament MVP honors after a standout performance. She was also named to the 2013 All-Conference Tournament Team and garnered Second Team All-Conference recognition that same year. A true competitor and leader, White exemplified athletic versatility and championship-caliber performance across two sports.

"It's an incredible honor to be inducted into the hall of fame, when I came to Mount Olive my intention was to continue my education, play a little ball and try to figure out what's next in life. 'Pickle Town' ended up giving me far more than I could have imagined," said White. "Renewed faith, education, incredible experiences, lifelong friendships, and my husband. I couldn't have done any of it without God, a supportive family, especially my #1 fan who although is not here I know is absolutely thrilled for this accomplishment, and the opportunity that Coach Kylis and Coach Tallman gave me to be a part of something so special."
