MOUNT OLIVE (Dec. 8) – The University of Mount Olive men's wrestling program secured 18 victories and a pair of wins over Emory & Henry and Allen on Sunday afternoon at the Trojan Duals hosted in Kornegay Arena.
With the wins, the Trojans improve to 6-2 overall in dual meets while boasting a 4-0 record in Kornegay Arena this season.

Against Emory & Henry, the Trojans claimed the opening six matches recording three falls, two forfeits, and a tech fall. Fifth-year Lens Mathurin registered a fall in the 125-weight class over Orlando Hernandez before UMO received a forfeit at 133, 12-0. Mount Olive increased the lead with a pin by redshirt sophomore Logan Tortual (141) versus Logan Arnold while fellow redshirt sophomore Christian Orozco delivered a dominant 24-8 tech fall against Isaiah Dotson in the 149-weight class, 23-0. Freshman Shayden Edwards produced a first-round fall over Zane Perkins at 157 before freshman Brent Nicolosi (165) collected a forfeit. The Wasps cut into the deficit with a 15-5 major decision in the 174-weight class before UMO secured wins in the final three bouts. The Trojans received forfeits at 184 and 285 while sophomore Raife Smart (197) posted a fall versus Evan Alger, 53-4.
Against Allen, Decatur earned a decisive 13-4 major decision at 125 against Xavier Anderson before Mount Olive received forfeits at 133 and 141, 14-0. The Yellow Jackets countered with a 15-0 tech fall in the 149-weight class before the Trojans delivered six straight victories. Freshman Dylan Pepin (157) posted a first-round fall over Quincy Gash while B. Nicolosi produced a 19-4 tech fall versus Ya'Donnis Hardaway at 165. In the 174-weight class, freshman Logan Haseley recorded a 32-second fall against Farrad Moore before junior Calan Staub won via injury default over Jerrel Baskins at 184. Smart (197) collected another fall over Sekou Bangoura and redshirt junior Slade Watkins earned a 13-3 major decision versus Chandler Allen to secure a 49-5 win.
The Trojans return to the mat on Dec. 14-15, when they travel to the 45th Midwest Classic, hosted by UIndy.
