DAHLONEGA, Ga. (May 1) – After making a consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament, the Trojans suffered a 4-0 loss at North Georgia in the opening match on Monday afternoon in the NCAA Southeast Regional.
With the loss, the University of Mount Olive women's tennis team finishes the year with a 14-12 overall record after claiming an automatic bid to the postseason with a win in the Conference Carolinas Championship. Meanwhile, No. 9 nationally ranked North Georgia improves to 16-6 this year after finishing runner-up in the Peach Belt Conference.
The Nighthawks swept the doubles session after winning all three matches to take an early 1-0 advantage in the dual match. Senior

Laura Servien were dealt a 6-4 loss in the third slot versus Ashley Moinard and Valentina Ascarrunz. The Trojans concluded the year with a stellar record in doubles play behind a 51-22 record (.699), including a 22-5 mark in league action.
In singles competition, North Georgia secured the postseason win after winning three completed singles matches to advance. In the second position, Voloshyna was defeated by a 6-3, 6-1 margin against Lippert, while Izarra suffered a 6-0, 6-1 loss to Anna Markvartova at No. 3 singles. The Nighthawks sealed the victory after Aylward fell by a 6-1, 6-0 count to Teterina in the sixth slot. The remaining contests were left unfinished.
