GAFFNEY, S.C. (Feb. 5) – Freshman Isabel Rodriguez finished runner-up in the 123-weight class on Sunday, as the Trojans featured four wrestlers on the podium at the Limestone Open.

The University of Mount Olive women's wrestling team finished fifth in a field of 12 teams with eight wrestlers competing in seven different weight classes.

Rodriguez placed second overall at 123 after opening the competition with a fall over Mary Anna Hannon in the first period. She followed up with back-to-back technical falls, including a win over Caroline Schmitt of Limestone to advance to the finals. Rodriguez battled in the championship match before suffering a loss via fall late in the round to Trinity Howard of Montreat. She received runner-up in the weight class behind a 3-1 record on Sunday.

Freshman Chloe Lawler finished in fourth place with a 3-2 overall record in the 136-weight class. Lawler registered a quick fall in the first period over Camarie Cunningham of the University of the Cumberlands before defeating Danielle Rapsas by a 10-0 technical fall in the quarterfinals. She suffered a 10-0 technical fall loss to No. 3 nationally ranked Paige Wehrmeister of Presbyterian but responded with a victory via fall over Brenda Farr in the consolation semifinals. In the third-place match, Lawler fought a tightly contested bout but fell by an 11-7 decision to Gianna Anaya of Emmanuel.

In the 191-weight class, freshman Jada Arnold reached the podium with a fourth-place finish on Sunday. She claimed a win over Emma Lozada of Emory & Henry in the quarterfinals with a pin before suffering a loss via fall to Jesse Kirby of the University of the Cumberlands. Arnold answered back with another win in the consolation semifinals by fall over Brittney Reed of Emory & Henry, but lost in the third-place match in a rematch versus Lozada by a 10-0 technical fall.

Freshman Gracie Cordasco placed fourth overall at 116 and opened the day with a bye. In the following round, she suffered a 10-0 technical fall loss to Ashley Morris of Lincoln Memorial before rebounding with a 12-2 technical fall victory over teammate Jillian Timberlake in the consolation semifinals. In the third-place bout, Cordasco was defeated via fall by Betty Cherry of Emmanuel in the first period.
