GREENVILLE, S.C. (Feb. 8) – After a pair of victories over the weekend at the UNCP Tri-Meet, redshirt freshman
Dallas Wilson was chosen as the South Atlantic Conference Carolinas (SACC) Wrestler of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.
A native of Stedman, North Carolina, Wilson registered a 2-0 mark in the 149-weight class at the UNC Pembroke Tri-Meet this past Saturday while securing a nationally-ranked win. He posted a victory via fall over Isaiah Dotson of Emory & Henry in the first period, as the Trojans cruised to a 54-0 win over the Wasps.
Against the Braves, Wilson delivered a masterful performance versus No. 11 individually ranked Jake Piccirilli by producing a win by a 4-0 decision.
He improved to 22-3 on the season after collecting a midweek win in the Newberry dual meet. He is currently in the midst of a seven-match winning streak. Wilson garners the weekly honor for the first time in his career after receiving Freshman of the Month for men's wrestling back in December.
Mount Olive will be idle for two weeks in preparation for the NCAA Super Regional II in Pembroke, North Carolina, set for Saturday, Feb. 25.
