WINGATE, N.C. - The University of Mount Olive men's and women's tennis teams traveled to Wingate University on Saturday in non-conference action in Wingate, N.C. Both Trojan teams fell the Bulldogs via a 6-1 score.
MATCH INFORMATION MEN
The Trojans dominated the doubles play by winning #1 and #3 doubles, earning the doubles point.
UMO then went 0-6 in singles to drop the match with an overall score of 6-1.
INSIDE THE RESULTS MEN
No.1 doubles Armando Ferreira/Aditya Balda and No.3 Adam Ibrahim both defeated their opponents winning 6-4 and 6-2 to earn the doubles point.
In singles action No. 1 Armando Ferreira and No. 5 Gregory Normand had the only close matches as UMO dropped all six single matches. Ferreira fell 7-5/6-4 while Normand fell 7-6/6-0.
MATCH INFORMATION WOMEN
The Women's team also held the early lead after the doubles round winning No 1 Liza Voloshyna/Nele Weber (6-2) and No. 2 Ingrid Montserrat/Deike Schipper (6-2) doubles.
UMO then slipped in all six singles matches to drop the match 6-1.
INSIDE THE RESULTS WOMEN
No 1 doubles Liza Voloshyna/Nele Weber and No.2 doubles Ingrid Montserrat/Deike Schipper quickly secured the doubles point by winning both matches 6-2.
In singles No. 6 Maria Impalea (6-3/5-7/0-1), No. 5 Bipasha Mehn (5-7/6-3) and No. 1 Ingrid Montserrat (4-6/3-6) were the only close matches for the Trojans as the dropped the match 6-1.
The last time UMO women's tennis took at least a point from Wingate was in 2015 when the Trojans fell 6-3 to the No. 49 ranked Bulldogs.
