MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. - The University of Mount Olive wrestling team split a tri-meet with the Emmanuel College and Belmont Abbey College Saturday afternoon in a South Atlantic Conference Carolinas action. UMO picked up their second win on the season against Emmanuel at 42-22 before falling to Belmont Abbey 27-13.
INSIDE THE RESULTS (EMMANUEL)
The match started at the 125 weight class and Mount Olive fell behind early via decision. The Trojans then found a little fire as the Trojans won the next three matches. Hayden Waddell (fall), Isaiah Olive (tech fall), and Seth Thomas (forfeit) all won their matches pushing UMO out to a 17-3 advantage.
Mount Olive felt the lead slip away slightly as Emmanuel took the next match, however, the momentum kept up with the Trojans. Colby Teague (major decision), Bryan Aragao (decision), and Ryan Morelan (fall) all took their respective matches and put UMO out to a comfortable lead. Jayln McClammy took the heavyweight match and won the dual 42-22.

The match started at the 125 weight class and Mount Olive fell behind early via tech fall. Hayden Waddell then took his match to draw the deficit to 5-3. After UMO fell in the 141 match, the Trojans won at 149 (Wilman major decision) and 157 (Naimi major decision) to put UMO a head 11-9.
The two teams exchanged decisions in the 165 and 174 matches and UMO held onto the 14-12 lead. Mount Olive, however, slipped in the final three matches as BAC took 15 points and won the dual 27-13.
