MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. - The University of Mount Olive wrestling team split a tri-meet with the Queens University and King University Thursday night in a South Atlantic Conference Carolinas action. UMO picked up their first win on the season against Queens at 28-15 before falling to King 38-9.
INSIDE THE RESULTS (QUEENS)
The match started at the 125 weight class and Mount Olive fell behind early via decision. The Trojans then found a little fire as the Trojans won the next five matches. Hayden Waddell, Seth Thomas, Dylan Wilman, Tyler Hughes, and Colby Teague all won their matches pushing UMO out to a 24-3 advantage.
Mount Olive felt the lead slip away slightly as Queens took the next three matches and shrunk the lead down to 24-15. The Trojans lead however was too great to overcome as Jayln McClammy took the heavyweight match and won the dual 28-15.

The match started at the 125 weight class and saw freshman Lens Mathurin pick up a win via forfeit. King then took all the momentum taking the next six matches.
Mount Olive, however, took the 184 match as Bryan Aragao won via decision to stop the run by the Tornado, but the lead was too great to overcome as KU took the final two matches and won the dual 38-9.
