Greenwood, S.C. --- The University of Mount Olive wrestling went 1-3 at the Carolina Clash Duals, hosted by Lander University, on Saturday in Greenwood, S.C. UMO now goes to 2-5 on the season.
INSIDE THE RESULTS
Mount Olive began the day against Glenville State, falling 40-9. UMO then slipped against Liberty University (33-10) and picked up their first win on the day against Allen University (41-5).
The final dual of the day pitted UMO vs the No. 4 ranked West Liberty, where the Trojans were able to score 15 points in the contest; falling 34-15.
The Trojans saw strong performances from Isaiah Olive (Dec,Fall, Dec) and Jake Nicolosi (Forf, Fall, Dec, Maj) as both went undefeated on the day.
Olive and Nicolosi were also the sole Trojans to score against an opponent in the West Liberty match. Olive defeated Luke Miller by fall (4:11) and Nicolosi took down Jonah Smith via decision 7-5.
COACHES COMMENTS
"We got exposed to some solid competition and I thought our guys improved as the day went along. We didn't have the success that we wanted, but we did get better. We are looking forward to getting back in the practice room to make adjustments and correct some mistakes that were made this weekend," said Head Coach Dan Willis.

Mount Olive will compete again on Dec. 12 inside Kornegay Arena as they will host a tri-dual against St. Andrews, Reinhardt, and Greensboro, beginning at 1:00 PM.
