CLEVELAND, OHIO – The first set of Learfield Directors' Cup standings were released in late November. Mount Olive was the sole Conference Carolinas school represented on the list with UMO sitting 38th in the standings.
The Trojans placed 38th, the highest first fall ranking UMO has received was in 2017 when the Trojans were ranked 12th. The Trojan men's cross country team were the major contributors to the finish for UMO as the team's 15th place finish at the NCAA National Championship was the only NCAA Championship finish calculated in the standings.
Men's Cross Country finished 15th at the 2019 NCAA Division II National Championship with senior Tai Smith having the highest finish of 47th for the Trojans.
The Learfield Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships.
