A junior right-handed pitcher, Thorton delivered a 2-0 record in the circle with an impressive 0.75 ERA while also recording her second no-hitter of the season, as the Trojans posted a 3-1 mark last week. In 12.0 innings pitched, Thornton registered a pair of complete games with 10 strikeouts and held her opponents to a .103 batting average.

On Thursday, she collected her second no-hitter this year and tallied six strikeouts in 5.0 innings (63 pitches) in an 11-0 win over Fayetteville State in Game 1. She faced 16 batters in the contest and forced eight groundouts and one flyout.

Over the weekend, Thornton delivered an outstanding performance in the circle with a complete-game win over Lees-McRae by a 5-1 margin in Game 2. She surrendered one earned run on four hits with four strikeouts and two walks in 7.0 innings pitched (102 pitches). She retired the side in order twice while forcing 15 groundouts against the Bobcats.

This season, Thorton boasts a 9-1 record in the circle behind a 3.54 ERA and 51 strikeouts in 65.1 innings pitched.
