Hanle Powers Trojans To Fifth Place Finish

Kutztown, Pa. – Led by freshman Leah HanleThe University of Mount Olive women's cross country team earned a fifth-place finish in the 20 team field at the Division II/III Cross Country Challenge hosted by Kutztown University.

Women's Placings: 
Fifth Place (4th, 15th, 27th, 45th, 73rd (91st, 101st))

    •Freshman Leah Hanle once again led the Trojans with a fourth place finish out of 136                runners in a time of 22:42.9, the second-fastest 6k time in program history.
    •Fellow freshman Meredith Lorient finished 15th with a time of 23:30.3.
    •Senior Kelsey Valentine finished 27th in a time of 23:58.8


  • The Kutztown field featured 20th ranked Shippensburg and Bloomsburg University, who are currently receiving votes in the USTFCCCA DII poll.
  • All 12 DII teams in the field, including UMO, are ranked in their respective regional polls, including top-ranked Stonehill (East region) and Shippensburg (Atlantic region)


The women's cross country team takes a break from competition and will return to action again on October 7 in the Royal XC Challenge in Charlotte, N.C.
