CENTRAL, S.C. – The University of Mount Olive women's track & field team won the 2018-19 Conference Carolinas Outdoor Track & Field Championship on Saturday in Central, S.C. The Championship is the sixth consecutive in program history.

 WOMEN'S NOTABLES

  • Mount Olive had 17 Trojans earn a spot on the podium in their respective events.
  • Shona Blades, Taylor MoncriefCandise Lockett, and Celine Ritter all became Conference Champions winning their events.
  • Candise Lockett set the new Conference Carolinas Championship record in the hammer with her throw of 54.30m in the hammer winning the event.
  • Kamber Skeen also set a new Conference Carolinas Championship record in the Javelin with her throw of 40.17m.
  • Shona Blades was named the Conference Carolinas Track Athlete of the Year and Taylor Moncrief was named the Field Athlete of the Year.
  • Head coach Matt van Lierop was named coach of the year.

UP NEXT

  • Mount Olive will wait to see if any of their NCAA Provisional qualifying marks will make the field at the 2019 NCAA DII Outdoor National Championships in Austin, Texas. June 5-8. Some Trojans, including Leah Hanle, and the men's 4x400m rely team have already punched their ticket with automatic qualifying marks earlier in the season.
