Mount Olive Wins Cliffs Women's Golf Intercollegiate

Julie Loennechen, Anne Barboteau and Lovisa Tillstrom all finished in the top 10 out of 44 golfers and University of Mount Olive rallied from a six-shot first-round deficit to win the Cliffs Women's Golf Intercollegiate at Tigerville, S.C. The Trojans moved up from third place after one round to win by one stroke. The 36-hole tournament, hosted by North Greenville University, concluded Tuesday.

Loennechen tied for fourth with a 79-78--157, while Bartboteau carded a 77-81--158 to finish sixth. Tillstrom shot 82-79--161 and jumped three spots to an eighth-place tie. Emy Ohling (88-85--173) tied for 24th and Stefany King (88-95--183) finished 35th.

The Trojans followed Monday's 326 with a 323 Tuesday for a 36-hole team score of 649. The Trojans finished a shot ahead of Milligan and first round leader Erskine. North Greenville was another 11 shots back in fourth place.

The Mount Olive women's and men's golf teams play host to The Trojan Presented by SCNB (Smithfield Chicken N Biscuits) next Monday and Tuesday at Goldsboro, N.C. The 36-hole men's and women's tournaments will take place at Walnut Creek Country Club.
