Dahlke Named CoSIDA Academic All-American For Second Consecutive Year

Mount Olive, N.C. - Jonathan Dahlke, a member of the University of Mount Olive men's cross country and track & field teams, earned 2nd-team academic all-American status as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Organization earlier in the week. Dahlke picked up a spot on the 2017-18 Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division II Cross Country/Track & Field second-team after a senior season that concluded with three athletic All-American honors. The team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.

The senior from Cologne, Germany, makes his second appearance on the Academic All-American team as he was named to the 2nd-Team at the end of the 2016-17 school year. Dahlke finished his academic career with a 3.7 GPA.

A psychology major, Dahlke captured three All-American honors this season including a 36th place finish at the 2017 NCAA Division II Cross Country National Championship, a 10th place finish in the Distance Medley Relay at the 2018 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships and a 7th place finish in the 1500M race at the 2018 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
