Men's Soccer Earns United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The University of Mount Olive men's soccer program earned the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award as announced by the coaches association.

The Trojans were one of 813 collegiate teams, 282 men's programs, to earn the academic team award. This marks the second consecutive year that Coach Brennan's squad achieved academic recognition from the USCA organization and third overall for the program.

Requirements that teams must meet in order to earn recognition are as follows; they must be active members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program and the team must hold a cumulative grade point of average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster.

"This is a great and important honor for our program," said head coach Sean Brennan. "Receiving the Team Academic Award highlights the full student-athlete experience that we are trying to give our players here. Winning is great but setting our players up for graduation and the transition into the real world is most important. Congratulations to our team for working hard in the classroom in order to receive this."
