Darrell Patterson scored 12 points and Mike Moore came off the bench to grab six rebounds and block two shots, but host King College used a late first-half run to pull away and stay within a game of the Conference Carolinas lead with a 91-58 men's basketball decision Saturday afternoon in Bristol, Tenn.
The Trojans (12-10 Overall, 9-7 CC) trailed just 33-27 after a Dontrell Brite layup with 2:39 remaining in the first half. But Mount Olive did not score again before intermission, then a 14-7 run by the Tornados (17-6, 12-5) broke the game open.
Patterson was the only Trojan in double-figures. Dory Hines and Brite added nine apiece.
The Trojans return to action Wednesday night when Mount Olive travels to Belmont Abbey for a 7:30 p.m. start.
