North Georgia Fly Past Lincoln Memorial, 4-1

Mount Olive, N.C. --- The No. 2 Seed North Georgia uses 10 hits to defeat the No. 7 Seed Lincoln Memorial 4-1.

  • Lincoln Memorial posted the opening run of the contest in the top of the third inning after a one-out single by Nate Stinson and a double by Seth Hunt allowed Mason Ewers to bring home a run on a groundout.
  • North Georgia tied the contest up in the bottom half of the third after Devin Gearhart started the inning with a double.  Trevor Sams singled on a full count to bring home the tying run.
  • Conner Corbitt gave the Nighthawks the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning for the 2-1 advantage.
  • North Georgia added on to their lead, 3-1, in the bottom of the sixth inning on a solo home run down the left field line.
  • UNG pushed across another insurance run in the bottom of the eighth on two hits and a Railsplitter miscue pushing the score to 4-1, where the contest would stay.


  • Dylan Peppers (8-3) picked up the win on the mound with a complete game.  Peppers scattered five hits allowing one run and struck out eight.
  • Connor Corbitt paced the Nighthawks with two hits and two RBI.
  • Seth Hunt picked up three of the team's five hits in the loss.
  • Brandon Jean (8-4) took the loss pitching seven innings allowing four runs off nine hits and struck out ten.


Lincoln Memorial falls into the loser's bracket and will take on Georgia College in the first elimination game Friday at 11 a.m.

North Georgia moves into the winner's bracket and will take on USC Aiken at 7 p.m. Friday.
