Dwayne McKay was named Mount Olive's first-ever Director of External Affairs for Athletics in August 2013. He oversees all of the athletic department's fundraising and development efforts, including managing the Trojan Club and increasing philanthropic support for Trojan athletics and the Trojan Club through community and alumni engagement. His duties include marketing the athletics department.
McKay joined the University of Mount Olive in February 2012 as Director of Planned Giving. He was responsible for developing and implementing initiatives to identify, cultivate and solicit prospects to ensure a strong base of ongoing financial support for UMO.
Prior to arriving at Mount Olive, McKay spent 17 years with Andy's Burgers, Shakes and Fries (now Hwy 55 Burgers, Shakes and Fries). He held various positions before being promoted to vice-president of special events and corporate training. He also owned Andy's restaurants in Havelock, N.C. and Holly Springs, N.C.
McKay is a graduate of the University of Mount Olive, earning a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Business Management.
McKay and his wife Terri have two children, Lucas and Malia.
