Styles & Patton Named Scholar Athletes Of The Month

Mount Olive, N.C. --- Seniors Ni'Ya Styles and Emmanuel Patton, or 'EP' as he is affectionately called, have been named the University of Mount Olive Female and Male Scholar-Athletes of the Month for the month of November. 

A member of the women's basketball team, Styles is a Criminal Justice & Criminology major who holds a 3.4 GPA. On the court, Styles is averaging 14.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game through eight games played so far this season.

A member of the men's basketball team, Patton is a graduate student in the UMO Masters of Business Administration program who holds a 3.5 GPA. In limited appearances on the court, Patton has played in two games for Mount Olive, registering two points on the season.

Scholar-Athlete of the Month winners are nominated by University of Mount Olive faculty members and selected by a committee chaired by UMO math professor and faculty athletics representative Dr. Brenda Cates.
