Trojan Tennis Earns ITA All-Academic Team & Individual Honors

TEMPE, ARIZ. - The University of Mount Olive men's & women's tennis teams and 13 Trojans were placed on the 2017 ITA All-Academic Teams and Scholar-Athletes list, respectively, it was announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).

Mount Olive had both its men's and women's teams named to All-Academic Teams. To be named an ITA All-Academic Team a team must have a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.

In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must be a varsity letter winner, have a grade point average of at least 3.50 on a 4.0 scale for the current academic year and have been enrolled at their present school for at least 2 semesters (including freshman through senior year).

"We are very excited that our tennis teams are being recognized for their outstanding academic work this past year. This puts the icing on the cake after achieving so much on the court athletically. We are truly blessed to have student athletes that put so much effort in the classroom and on the court. We are very proud of each student athlete," said head tennis coach Kevin Coghill.
