The University of Mount Olive had another successful spring semester in the classroom. Thirteen of eighteen sports had a team GPA of over a 3.0.
Men's Tennis won the highest team GPA with a 3.689.
Five teams made over a 3.4: Women's Tennis, Women's Volleyball, Men's Volleyball, Men's Golf, and Men's Cross Country. There were also seven other teams that had a cumulative 3.0 or higher: Softball, Men's Soccer, Women's Golf, Women's Lacrosse, Women's Soccer, Women's Cross Country, and Women's Basketball.
The average team GPA was a 3.178. The averaged marked the 12th straight semester with over a 3.0 GPA.
"We're proud of the hard work by our student-athletes in the classroom, as well as the emphasis that our coaches put on academics. It is our department goal to average over a 3.0 GPA, and it is impressive that we have now accomplished this goal 12 consecutive semesters," said Vice President for Athletics Jeff Eisen.
There were also 22 student-athletes that had a perfect 4.0 GPA for the spring semester.
